Adobe wants to make creative people more mobile

Adobe presented a flurry of new releases at its in-house Creative MAX 2015 show in Los Angeles designed to free creative workflows from desk-top pressures.

Adobe expects approximately 7,000 MAX 2015 attendees from October 3 to 8, 2015 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC). The opening speech was given by Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen on Monday morning, General Manager Bryan Lamkin, Adobe Digital Media Manager, and several product managers.

In the Keynote luggage, Adobe executives included new mobile apps, enhanced touch capabilities on the latest mobile hardware such as Surface Pro and Apple iPad Pro and Creative Cloud programs, a powerful 'CreativeSync' access technology on assets from any device and location as well as the expansion of the marketplace "Adobe Stock" to videos.

Taken together, this results in the Adobe vision of a "Connected Creative Canvas", with which creatives can do their work anywhere and share it with others. "With the latest release, we're giving our creative clients the freedom they need to work and be inspired everywhere," Bryan Lamkin is quoted in a statement . "The constant connection to assets, projects, and the team is critical to designers today, and CreativeSync creates powerful connections between desktop and mobile apps as well as essential creative assets."

New Apps: "Project Rigel" will fix "Photoshop"

With "Photoshop Fix", which has been haunting the media for some time now as "Project Rigel", Adobe has launched a new mobile app with a focus on image retouching. This complements the already familiar "Photoshop Mix" for the assembly and makes known from the desktop tools known as the repair brush or "liquefaction" on the go on iPhone and iPad available . A version for Android should follow "soon".

In the likewise new app "Capture CC" Adobe combines the hitherto separate capabilities of "Adobe Brush", "Adobe Shape", "Adobe Color" and "Adobe Hue" to a capturing app together. Creative Cloud subscribers can use it to track assets they want to use later as a brush, shape, or color scheme. The manufacturer has also updated other mobile apps such as Photoshop Mix, Photoshop Sketch, Illustrator Draw, Comp CC, and Premiere Clip.

CreativeSync, which enables cross-device access to creative assets with a back end on Amazon Web Services ( AWS ), allows you to save Creative Cloud libraries . These can be used in desktop and mobile apps and shared with every other Creative Cloud customer.

More touch also on the desktop

But development is also continuing with the flagship applications of the Creative Cloud on the desktop. For InDesign CC and Illustrator CC, there are new or updated touch workspaces that allow layouters and graphic artists to work more mobile. In addition, the CC program family gets "Fuse CC" (result of the acquisition of Mixamo) growth for 3D figures.

When it comes to web design, Muse's free-form responsive design without coding is introduced - no other supplier currently has this in stock. Dreamweaver is also responsive in moderation, but Adobe uses the popular framework Bootstrap. Photoshop CC gets new artboards for accurately positioning elements and layers; InDesign can also publish documents in the direction of online in the future. A first look Adobe granted to a new UX prototyping solution with desktop and mobile app, which is currently under the code name "Project Comet" is developed.

The videography group - their novelties have recently been showcased at the IBC trade show - can look forward to native support for 4K to 8K resolution UHD footage and Color HDR workflows in Premiere Pro CC, as well as better color fidelity and adjustment in After Effects CC looking forward. Audition CC gets "Remix", a powerful new audio feature that automatically adjusts audio to the length of a video clip. Last, but not least were Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC and Character Animator on touch-optimized devices like Surface Pro, Windows - Tablets and Apple devices with track pad.

Adobe Stock, the result of the acquisition of the Stock Photo Marketplace Fotolia, will be expanded to include video content and integrated directly into more CC programs. In addition, Adobe for Stock offers new options for corporate clients, including license management and reporting tools.

With Adobe Portfolio, Adobe also announces a new way for creatives to present their work at a relatively lower cost than a responsive website (in the keynote on Monday, time was not enough for that). For users who are already eager to use the Behance network, this might be an interesting alternative - otherwise Adobe offers few unique selling propositions compared to the already available variety of portfolio tools.

Incidentally, Portfolio will also be part of the Creative Cloud photography subscription. If you have subscribed to this package, you can look forward to PS Fix as well as new Capture capabilities and Dehaze features in "Lightroom CC", more layer support "PS Mix" and much more advanced editing options in the web version of Lightroom.

Incidentally, there were also creative cloud components that were mentioned in the keynote with no syllable - among other Flash and Bridge.

The new and updated mobile apps can now be downloaded from the Apple App and Google Play Store. The desktop update of the Creative Cloud promises Adobe "before the end of the year".
