Samsung unveils Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have a new dual-pixel technology, which ensures a fast autofocus. Thanks to the F1.7 open aperture, sharp images are possible even in dark conditions. Another highlight is the IP68 certification. Thus, the smartphone can withstand water for up to half an hour. Likewise, according to Samsung, the performance of the battery has improved compared to its predecessor, so that it can last longer in everyday life.

The S7 has a 3000mAh battery, while the S7 edge has a battery with 3600mAh capacity. The devices should be recharged in about 90 or 100 minutes by using the quick-charge function. According to Samsung, the CPU of the 7 Series is up to 30 percent faster than its predecessor. For the graphics processor Samsung gives up to 64 percent higher performance. Furthermore, the RAM has been increased from 3 to 4 GB. Many users are likely to find positive that Samsung finally back a micro-SD slot installed, so that the user can expand its memory. In the past, the waiver had brought Samsung much criticism.

At the same time with the Galaxy S7, Samsung presented the 360 ​​with the Gear 360 at the MWC in Barcelona. With the Gear 360, each user can create their own 360-degree photos and videos. With the Gear 360, Samsung offers everything from a single source in terms of VR: a VR headset in the form of the Gear VR and a camera for your own 360-degree productions.

While LG receives Google's support in VR, Samsung has found an important ally in Mark Zuckerberg to market its VR products. To enable the VR experience on Facebook, the social network provides the software oculus. In Barcelona, ​​Zuckerberg praised the combination of Gear 360 and Oculus as the ideal platform for creating VR content.
